Road Accident ClaimsGuide to Road Traffic Accident Claim

If you have been injured in a road traffic accident you may be wondering what you should do. Is it necessary to call the police and remain at the accident scene or are you able to leave the scene? Where and when should you obtain treatment for your injuries? Are you able to obtain a replacement vehicle while your car is being repaired?

Loyalty Law can answer all of these questions for you, together with any other questions you may have and can quickly put you in touch with an expert solicitor who specialises in road traffic accident claims.

At the scene of your accident

Immediately following your road traffic accident it is vital that you:

  • Obtain full details of anyone else involved in the road traffic accident including name, address, vehicle registration number and details of their insurance company;
  • Obtain full details of any witnesses to your road traffic accident as they may play a vital part in helping you to prove your case if you decide to pursue a claim;
  • Obtain photographic evidence of the accident scene and of any damages vehicles involved in the accident. You should also try and take a photograph of something that will date the accident scene (for example, a copy of that day’s newspaper);
  • If you have, or somebody else has, been injured in the accident you should report the accident to the police as soon as possible. You should ensure that the vehicles remain stationary until the police arrive at the scene so that they can obtain details and measurements.

Your injury

If you have been injured as a result of the road traffic accident you should obtain treatment for your injury as soon as possible. If your injury is serious then an ambulance will have been called to take you to hospital where you will be treated in the most appropriate manner.

However, if your injuries are fairly minor you should obtain treatment from either your GP or your local Accident and Emergency Department as soon as possible.

You will be eager to return to your pre-accident state of health as soon as possible. Loyalty Law has a national network of treatment providers that can work with you to provide you with private treatment to speed up your recovery. The cost of this treatment will not need to be paid by you as it will be included as part of your compensation claim.

Repairs to your vehicle

If your vehicle was damaged in the accident you may be wondering what action you should take with regard to getting your vehicle repaired. Loyalty Law solicitors will arrange for the extent of damage to your vehicle to be assessed and will ensure that you are back on the road as soon as possible.

If you are involved in a road traffic accident that has occurred through no fault of your own you will entitled to a replacement vehicle for the entire period that your vehicle is not road worthy. Loyalty Law solicitors will work with you to make this happen.

Why Choose Loyalty Law For Your Road Traffic Accident Claim?

All Loyalty Law solicitors are checked and vetted to ensure that they meet our criteria in the following ways:-

  • Before they can start working for you, they are interviewed by our managing director, a solicitor himself (although no longer practising). He is quickly able to assess whether they have the legal skills needed, but also whether they are easy to speak with on the telephone and will give you the service that you deserve.
  • At the end of every accident claim, we carry out an interview with each client to ensure that they have been completely satisfied with the service provided. This ensures that not only does the solicitor start off by providing an excellent service, but through continual feedback they continue to achieve the right levels of service for you. It means that people like you are constantly monitoring and providing feedback on the service and is one of the reasons why we believe that you should ask Loyalty Law to help you find the right solicitor.
