If you have been involved in a road traffic accident and are experiencing pain and discomfort you will want to know – do I have whiplash? In order to help answer this question we created the below infographic to clearly show some of the common and less common whiplash symptoms. If your symptoms match then you need to seek medical assistance from your GP or at a hospital. Once you have done this, you may like to consider making a claim for whiplash.
You are unlikely to start experiencing these whiplash injury symptoms immediately after the accident. Symptoms of whiplash usually take around 6 to 12 hours to develop. Don’t worry this is normal. There are also different types of whiplash ranging from mild whiplash with temporary symptoms to chronic whiplash when the symptoms last over six months.
Whiplash mainly affects the neck and back. It is caused when the neck ligaments and tendons in your neck over stretch beyond their normal limits.
It is important to visit your GP if you experience any of these whiplash symptoms following a car accident. To find out more about whiplash and claiming for whiplash please visit our page here.
