A man who still needs a wheelchair to get around, months after a road crash may make a car accident compensation claim for his injuries.
Keith Richardson was driving with his son and daughter in Sheffield when they were hit by the car of Davina Derbyshire after she had fallen asleep after taking a cocktail of drugs, including painkillers and antidepressants.
Mr Richardson and his daughter sustained broken bones, whilst his son could make a whiplash compensation claim. The car they were in was also a total write-off after it had been shunted into a lamppost.
Derbyshire was sentenced to six months imprisonment, suspended for two years, together with a two-year community order and disqualification from driving for three years.
