Four employees of a Welshpool-based company could bring forward industrial injuries claims after they were culpably exposed to asbestos.
Leslie Davies, trading as Meadow View Windows and Conservatories, was fined £3,000 for failing to adequately protect staff from asbestos exposure while they were soffits from a property in Montgomery, Powys, in June 2009.
Condemning the exposures as "wholly avoidable", Health and Safety Executive inspector Chris Wilson said that the four "now have to live with the fear of becoming ill with a life-threatening lung disease."
4,000 people die every year from conditions caused by asbestos exposure, according to HSE figures.
Workers who have think they may have been exposed to asbestos or other harmful substances may be able to bring forward industrial injuries claims and should consult a personal injury claim solicitor to see if they have a case.
